La Mauricie National Park.
Summer 2011

La Mauricie National park is one of the best spots in Quebec for canoeing and hiking. It offers a mosaic of lakes and forests located two hours drive from Montreal, in the heart of the Laurentians.

I am familiar with this park. I have worked with the team of the Department for Conservation of Natural Resources for several seasons.

In summer 2011, I'll lead canoe trips of one or more days on the lakes du Fou, Wapizagonke and Anticagamac and hiking tours. The departures will be very early in the morning so we'll have a better chance to watch wildlife: moose (elk), black bears, loons (divers), Canada geese, mergansers...

Program and itinerary

The canoe trips will start June 1st. I'll also offer canoe trips with hikes along the hiking trails to various impressive views in the Park. We'll discover the Waber waterfalls, the most beautiful waterfalls in the park.

Departure dates, destinations and meeting spots will be listed on this site every week from June 1st. You'll only need to contact me to book your trip.

The fee of each tour is $50 per person per day. It doesn’t include the park entrance, camping fees, or food.

Testimony

''Le Lac du Fou remains for me one of the most beautiful experiences in forty three years of intensive wildlife photography. With Philippe, I was able to approach Canada geese, merganser and a few moose... We went close to beaver huts, and saw the great American bittern. But La Mauricie has many other natural resources to offer, like the beautiful spring flowering Red and White Trillium, the Dog’s Tooth Violet…''
